NFL Schedule This Week: Your TV Guide to Every Week 17 Game

CableTV.com’s weekly NFL TV schedule features channel listings for each game and our NFL Game of the Week recommendation.

Christmas week has arrived, and the NFL is delivering a viewing schedule that’s as packed as it is complex. We’re looking at a streaming-heavy holiday, kicking off with a Christmas Day triple-header that requires some app-hopping. You’ll need Netflix for the afternoon exclusives before switching over to Amazon Prime Video for Thursday Night Football. The streaming theme carries right into Saturday, too, with matchups split between NFL Network and Peacock.

Once Sunday hits, the schedule settles into a more familiar rhythm, though with a slightly thinner slate than we’re used to. With the holidays in full swing and fewer games clogging the afternoon windows, it’s actually the perfect setup to focus on the marquee matchups without needing a second screen. And trust me, you’ll want to pay attention.

Only a handful of teams remain truly in the hunt for a playoff spot, but the seeding battles are alive and kicking. This week has the potential to completely shake up the playoff picture, especially in the wild NFC West. Whether you’re avoiding in-laws or just unwinding after the festivities, the Week 17 NFL schedule offers high-stakes drama that’s definitely worth carving out time for.

CableTV.com’s NFL Game of the Week

Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers | NBC, Peacock

Coverage begins Sunday, December 28, at 8:20 p.m. ET: After most of Week 17 plays out, this is the one game you absolutely have to watch. Sunday Night Football delivers the undisputed main event with two 11–4 juggernauts clashing at Levi’s Stadium. Forget the “bubble watch” panic. This is high-stakes poker for playoff seeding.

The NFC West is officially the wildest division in football right now, and the 49ers are in a frantic chase to catch the Seahawks for the crown. Meanwhile, the Bears are eyeing that same No. 1 overall seed and a bye week. That makes this a potential NFC Championship preview, and I can’t wait to see who blinks first.

San Francisco’s offense is peaking at the exact right moment. Brock Purdy just dropped a career-high five touchdowns on the Colts, proving this unit is Super Bowl material when it clicks. I’m also loving what I see from rookie nickelback Upton Stout on defense. He’s been delivering huge stops right when they need them. If the Niners bring that same explosive energy in Week 17, they could easily topple the Bears.

Of course, Chicago is showing a lot of grit right now. They’re fresh off an insane OT comeback against the Packers that showcased just how clutch Caleb Williams can be. Rookie tight end Colston Loveland is a huge reason why, terrorizing defenses as a pass-catcher and paving the way for the league’s No. 2 rushing attack. But let’s be real: Chicago can’t rely on miracles here. They need to ditch the slow starts immediately, or the Niners will run them out of the building.
